Summer is here and we now have some down time to dedicate to hobbies and projects. Are you in the process of making a yummy outfit to wear in the city this summer? Maybe you are trying to find just the right thing to finish those pillows for your living room sofa. If fabric stores are intimidating and you are wondering what kind’s buttons or fabric best suits your project, then this tour is a not-to-be missed tour for you.

On Saturday May 17 from 10AM to 12PM, The Philadelphia Sewing Collective will be hosting a tour on Philadelphia’s historic fabric row. On this tour, participants will learn the necessary tools for all aspects of fashion, design, recreational sewing and more. Entry level and experienced crafters are encouraged to come out to the highly anticipated neighborhood sewing collaboration. All participating stores will offer expertise, inspiration, and talk in detail with you about your particular project. Crissy Phillips of Christine Phillips Design will be your tour guide. As an accomplished designer with over fifteen years of experience in the fashion industry, you’ll be sure to be inspired and learn some things from her. During the tour, Chrissy will take you to BUS STOP Boutique, a trendy new shoe boutique, where her designs will be showcased. BUS STOP boutique is owned and operated by Elena Brennan, a shoe aficionado from London who supports local Philadelphia artists.  Elena will be available to answer questions about what shoes or sandals can go along with the ensemble that you are making. For participants of the Fabric Row Tour, BUS STOP Boutique will be offering a 10% discount on any non sale item in the store.

Don’t miss out!

Cost: $25.00. For more info www.phillysewing.org and to register for the tour, please email Megan Haupt @ This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
